the center for neuroscience (nsc) was established in 2008 with the strong and continuing support by the li kashing foundation. national and provincial grant support allows additional support for internationally cutting edge and vigorous research in basic and translational science dedicated to problems in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer with the aim to elucidate the functions of cell adhesion molecules in physiology and pathology of animal models (mouse and zebrafish). the nsc has developed into an internationally renowned research center (being listed third in china for publication citations in chemistry, molecular biology and life sciences) with modern facilities for experiments in molecular, cellular and behavioral aspects of neuroscience. work with transgenic animal models are ongoing to ameliorate the devastating consequences of acute and chronic neurological diseases. the nsc is led by melitta schachner, a world renowned neuroscientist being among the most cited neuroscientists worldwide - hirsch factor 121 in july 2017 according to isi. melitta schachner is an academician of the academy of sciences in germany since 2012.
job opportunities:candidates must have a phd degree, and get the degree within recent 3 years and also not over the age of 35 years old, a good command of english and should preferably have scientific and experimental experience in molecular and cellular biology, neurobiology or immunology.
work conditions:the university will provide very competitive salaries and free housing accommodations. applicants from domestic or foreign countries younger than 35 years of age are welcome to apply, stating that they are healthy. in the first 2 years, the postdoctoral salary will range between 272,000 to 292,000 rmb per year before taxation, which amounts to a few % of the salary. living expenses are around 3000 rmb per month for one person. the contract depends on the successful passing of midterm and final year evaluations. in addition to the salary, the li kashing foundation provides 40,000 rmb for research.
